It's an intentional mess up. Hell, they don't even know his name until the introduction.
It makes the movie more interesting because most people don't expect him to use lightsabers, let alone four of them even if they see bits of the duel in the trailer, the scene with him twirling them is truly mind blowing to anyone who ever watches the movie.
So when grievous throws off his cape and reveals two extra arms and four lighsabers everybody in the audience is thinking "I know Obi-Wan technically can't die, but it sure looks like he's about to die. On a lesser note, it is showed glaringly in the beginning of ROTS that Grievous prefers to let others fight his battles while he escapes first vulture droids and tri-fighters, if that doesn't work then battle droids and Count Dooku, if that still doesn't work then magnaguards and more battle droids, if the jedi kill those to, hop in an escape pod It COULD be retconned that Obi-Wan was teasing Grievous, but I have no say in that so pay more attention to the other paragraph.

In some of the books and certain storylines of The Clone Wars we touch on his past. Anything I can do to imbue more depth into this character through the writing in this game is incredibly exciting.
Of course, Obi-Wan eventually gets the upper hand in that. To be able to revisit that dynamic in Battlefront II is always fun.
Those two are like star-crossed in a certain way. Do you approach playing Grievous in a video game differently than you would in another format? I would say I try to make him have parity across the entire pantheon of Star Wars projects.

Grievous has several lines that are quite imposing, but some that are also relatively jovial. How do you keep a more light-hearted line equally menacing?
